Siegelau

From the hills looking over the southern end of the village, one can see the town's church where the bells chime frequently, complimenting the sounds of cowbells in the distance. This is the hometown, or "heimat" of   Hermann Fahrlander. The nearest rail station is Gutach im Breisgau, which is just a few miles north of Waldkirch in the Black Forest, or "im Schwarzwald".

Siegelau

A view from the eastern hills toward the north end of the village. The large  farm house on the right-hand side is      Reschlierdenhof, the Fahrländer family farm since the early 1800's. It has not changed much since that time. This picture was taken in 1998, as Franz-Anton Fahrländer and family were completing a project to expand the kitchen area.
